When should I furnish a copy of Form W-2 to my employees?

Employee copies of Form W2 must be mailed to the employee no later than January 31st. If an employee gives consent for their copy to be sent digitally, you can then send the digital format before the deadline.

Note: If the deadline falls on a weekend or federal holiday, the form copies should be sent the next business day.

If you have opted for the postal mailing option while filing your Form W-2 through ExpressEfile, it will reach your employees before the deadline. Even if you haven't opted for the postal mailing add-on, you can download the form from the Dashboard and issue it manually or simply email the form directly to the recipient from the Dashboard.
