Form 1099-MISC has 5 different copies and each has its own purpose. Below are the copies available in Form 1099-MISC:
- Copy A - Sent to the IRS (Internal Revenue Service)
- Copy 1 - Sent to the State tax department
- Copy B - For recipient
- Copy 2 - For the recipient to file with his/her state income tax return
- Copy C - For Payer
If you e-file Form 1099-MISC through ExpressEfile, all five copies will be generated. You will also have an option to postal mail the return copies to your recipients.
