Applicable To
Form 941 Form 1099 / W-2 Form 2290

The IRS requires that electronically-filed Form 2290 must be signed using a 5-digit PIN. Once you complete your Form 2290, you have to e-sign the return (by entering a 5-digit PIN) before transmitting it to the IRS.

You may enter any five digits as your PIN to e-sign the return, except all zeros. This 5-digit PIN serves as the electronic/digital signature for your return.
