Applicable To
Form 941 Form 1099 / W-2 Form 2290

Form 2290 is due on the last day of the month following the First Used Month (FUM) of your vehicle in the tax year. A typical tax year begins on July 1 and ends on June 30 of the following year.

For example, if you use your vehicle for the first time during the tax year in the month of September, the due date for your Form 2290 will be 31 October. You must file your Form 2290 and pay the required HVUT taxes on time to avoid penalties and interest.
