Are employers required to provide qualified sick leave wages based on FFCRA for Quarter 1, 2021?

Applicable To
Form 941 Form 1099 / W-2 Form 2290

Previously, employers are required to provide sick leave wages for reasons related to COVID-19, which was expired on December 31, 2020.  For Quarter 1, 2021, it is not mandatory for employers to provide these leave wages. However, if employers choose to provide paid leave wages, they can claim the FFCRA tax credit for the leaves taken until September 30, 2021.
