If you e-file Form 1099 corrections, you are NOT REQUIRED to file Form 1096. However, your Form 1096 will be updated based on the correction and you can access it for your records. To learn how to access Form 1096, click here.
If you paper file 1099 corrections, you must file Form 1096 along with your correction forms.
